Changing Lives through Horses

Changing Lives through Horses at Barton End Stables

At the British Horse Society (BHS), we believe in the transformative power of horses — not just for riders, but for young people facing significant life challenges.

That belief is at the heart of our Changing Lives through Horses (CLTH) programme, which has supported over 4,000 children and young people since 2016. This inspiring initiative helps participants:

N

Build confidence and self-esteem

N

Learn essential life skills

N

Develop a renewed sense of purpose

While not every participant wants to ride, many go on to rewarding roles in the equestrian sector — as grooms, coaches, or stable managers.
Others find the confidence to return to school, start training, or take the first step into employment.

CLTH is about helping each young person uncover their own passion, potential, and path forward.
